Spurs to face Heat in 2013 NBA Finals

When it was all said and done, the Miami Heat emerged from Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Miami Heat behind LeBron James’ 32 points and eight rebounds. This marks the third consecutive year that the Heat have made it into the NBA Finals.

“You never want to take anything for granted,” Point Guard Dwayne Wade said afterward. “Being here three straight years in a row, going back to the finals, is an amazing feat. I’m just glad we were able to do it. Everything that happened in the first six games didn’t mean anything to us. It was about tonight. It was about Game 7. It was about finding a way to win here at home.”

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for Thursday June 6th.  Get your Tickets before they’re all gone!

Spurs to face off with Golden State in Quarterfinals

The Golden State Warriors pulled off a victory that almost didn’t happen.  Cruising into the fourth quarter with an 18-point lead, the Warriors took their eye off the ball to watch the clock.

“We were up 18, and I was celebrating, having a ball, and then it seems like two minutes later all of a sudden it’s a single-digit game and every possession mattered again,” center David Lee said.

This season, the Spurs split the series between the two clubs 2-2 but if history is a prelude to the upcoming series…anything can happen. Point 1: The last time these two clubs met in the playoffs was the first round of the 1991 playoffs where the 44-38 Warriors upset the 55-27 Spurs. Point 2: The Warriors have not won on a San Antonio floor since early 1997.

All in all, this should be a fantastic series and tickets are still available. So come on Spurs fans, get out and support your San Antonio Spurs and their Drive for Five!

Spurs face familiar foe in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs

It was a gritty win for the Los Angeles Lakers as they overcame the Houston Rockets in a 99-95 overtime game at Staples Center.  The win eliminated the Utah Jazz from the playoffs but placed the Lakers squarely in the path of the San Antonio Spurs quest for another NBA Championship.
