Spurs host Celtics tomorrow

Celtics have dropped last two games.

The Boston Celtics fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder last night and they will get a day of rest before taking on the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night even though Russell Westbrook’s triple double streak came to an end.

Now the Celtics come to San Antonio and the AT&T Center where the Spurs are trying to improve their home win/loss record, which now stands at 6-4–compared to their 13-1 road record.  The Spurs will have one less talent to deal with as Isaiah Thomas Jr is not expected to play and will miss his fourth straight game due to a groin injury.

Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on your San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night!

Thunder even up series against Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs had hoped to steal a game from the Oklahoma City Thunder but, Serge Ibaka aside, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook had other ideas for the night.  The duo combined for 71 points and Westbrook set a career playoff five steals.

“I don’t know if it’s the best game we’ve ever played together, we ‘ve played so many games now but I think we have another level we can get to.”

Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich pulled the plug on his starters early on in the rout but the bench pulled within 12 points in the fourth quarter but Pop refused to put the starters back in, in an effort to preserve his aging trio of Duncan, Ginobili and Parker.

“Pop did a great job all season keeping us fresh,” Parker said.  “I understand his decision (to keep the starters on the bench), I trust his judgment and now I just have to be ready for Game 5.”

Great seats for Game five are still available so be sure to get your tickets and help cheer on your San Antonio Spurs!

Spurs look to go up 2-0 on Thunder

“It was a hard-fought ball game. Nothing to be ashamed of.” Thunder Head Coach Scott Brooks

The San Antonio Spurs have continued their winning ways and look to capture their 20th consecutive victory tonight as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

In game 1, the Spurs showed the rust of a week plus off while waiting for the Thunder and were behind for 3/4 of the game until Head Coach Gregg Popovich uttered those words that will most likely flood the city of San Antonio via posters and T-shirts “I want some nasty!”

The “nasty” that Popovich was looking for erupted in the 4th quarter as the Spurs outscored the Thunder 39-27 to turn a 10-point deficit into a 10-point lead that the Spurs never relinquished.

“They found some rhythm. They were able to attack us through penetration,” said point guard Derek Fisher. “We spent a lot of time trying to talk about doing the job, taking away the penetration of Ginobili and (Tony) Parker. We didn’t do that in the fourth quarter. You can’t give up a 30-point quarter in a playoff game and expect to win.”

The Spurs and Thunder kick off Game 2 tonight at the AT&T Center at 7:30.   Get your tickets to the hottest series thus far in the NBA Playoffs.
