Spurs’ Ginobili worried “We’re not ready”

If the call had come from the usual pundits, then not much stock would be put into those words but the fact that it came from 3 time NBA Champion Manu Ginobili about his own team, lends credence of the statement.

The Spurs are a worrying 1-7 against the elite teams of the NBA including the Trailblazers (twice), the Thunder, the Rockets and the Pacers. The only win came against the LA Clippers who were without the services of All Star point guard Chris Paul.

“When it happens the first three times, four times, five times,” Ginobili said, “then you say, ‘Okay, things happen. The schedule and…’ Now it’s eight (losses), so there has to be a tendency now.”

The Spurs have a chance to add a victory against a top tier team in Oklahoma City this Wednesday.  Great tickets are still available!

Spurs face Pacers Saturday Night

The San Antonio Spurs will be back home after not being able to play a scheduled game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Mexico City.  The Game was cancelled due to smoke from an errant generator four floors above the arena floor.

“I thought they were practicing fireworks, Spurs TV analyst Sean Elliot said. “A lot of teams do that before introductions. But then the smoke just kept creeping and it wasn’t white smoke. It was like a brown dark smoke and it started taking over the whole court. It was surprising.”

The Spurs face the Indiana Pacers this Saturday in a match up of probable title contenders.  Great seats and Tickets are still available!

Spurs await next foe, rest up and recouperate

The San Antonio Spurs are sure of one thing, June 6th they will be playing someone out of the Eastern Conference for a shot at the Larry O’Brien Trophy and that is a good ten days of rest for one of the older teams of the NBA.

“Is it 10 days, really?” Duncan said when asked whether the layoff and rest are worth the rust the team will accumulate. “It’s both. What are you gonna say? It’s both. We’re going to be a little rusty starting the first game. It’s just how it is. We’re going to figure out how to practice and stay sharp. But, bottom line, we’re going to be a little rusty.”

In the East, the Indiana Pacers have taken a (some would say surprising) 2-2 tie going into game 5. The Spurs hope it goes all seven for wear and tear on the both teams yes, but it will also give them time to study both teams flaws and figure out how to exploit those flaws.

Tickets for the NBA Finals will be on sale soon.
