Spurs face Pacers Saturday Night

The San Antonio Spurs will be back home after not being able to play a scheduled game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Mexico City.  The Game was cancelled due to smoke from an errant generator four floors above the arena floor.

“I thought they were practicing fireworks, Spurs TV analyst Sean Elliot said. “A lot of teams do that before introductions. But then the smoke just kept creeping and it wasn’t white smoke. It was like a brown dark smoke and it started taking over the whole court. It was surprising.”

“Tonight was good for (Duncan),” guard Manu Ginobili said, “but we never lost trust in him. We would be crazy if we did. It does feel good to see him coming back, especially over the past few games.”

The Hawks know exactly what to expect fro the likes of  Tim Duncan these days.

“We know the type of player he is,” Atlanta center Al Horford said. “He’s just a winner; he finds ways every time.”

Spurs drop Nuggets, face Suns

The San Antonio Spurs fought off a sluggish start and pulled away in the 4th quarter with a 30-16 thumping.

“I thought our defense was much better in the fourth,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich added. “We held them to about 13 points until the very end when Ty Lawson went to the line. But our aggressiveness on defense picked up, which fueled our offense.”

The Spurs offense was almost non-existant and the three point shooting looked tired as they made only four out of sixteen attempts beyond the arc.

The Spurs next face the Phoenix Suns at home. The Suns are also hot out of the gate and have the same 3-1 record as the Spurs.
