Nowitzki’s second 40-point game in six days gives him seven career playoff 40s

Dirk Nowitzki’s huge 40-point game helped Dallas escape with one of the most remarkable comebacks in NBA history Monday night in their 112-105 overtime victory against Oklahoma City.

It marked his second 40-point night in the last six days as he continues a recent surge that saw him score 48 points in Game 1 of the series against the Thunder. He’s averaging 33.8 points per game in the series.

Nowitzki has notched seven 40-point playoff games during his career, which ranks fourth among all active players. Three of them have come after he turned 30.
