George Hill, speeding through the Valley

You’ve got to hand it to now-former Spurs guard George Hill. Despite the fact the Spurs traded him to Indiana on draft night, Hill has kept commitments he made to visit youth camps in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley.

Trips to places like McAllen, Brownsville and Laredo aren’t exactly glamorous, but Hill is making them anyway.

“I wanted to keep my commitments to those kids,” Hill said late last month, “because it’s about more than basketball.”

Hill’s willingness to remain engaged in a community that isn’t really his own anymore is commendable. Unfortunately, it appears Hill might have been in a little too big a hurry to get to Laredo this afternoon to fulfill one of those obligations.

To wit,

Just Got Pulled Over on my way 2 Laredo! But Cop let us go, because he said what I do for the Kids and Fans N that I’ll be missed!

Luckily for Hill, it appears he got away with his bit of errant driving. Let’s be careful out there.

Mark Cuban back in the swingin’ 70s at Indiana University

Mark Cuban always will tell you about the fun he had while attending Indiana University.

Besides playing on the school’s rugby team, the current owner of the Dallas Mavericks apparently was quite the social animal back in those debaucherous days back in Bloomington.

The folks at Deadspin have back at Indiana.

They let him know it was coming and Cuban protected a few of his old friends in the most revealing pictures by blocking out their faces.

But he also has a hilarious commentary about the slideshow.

This picture is one of the more , who comments that he’s glad he’s gotten rid of the ’70s porn mustache you can see him with in most of the pictures.

It’s a revealing look at Cuban in all of his glory.

Just a guess here, but I bet Spurs Nation will like these a lot better than another picture of Cuban holding up the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

George Hill adds new Indiana-influenced tattoo

George Hill couldn’t wait to display his new tattoo he picked up earlier this week.

So he did like many modern-day athletes would do.

He of it.

Hill’s newest addition runs prominently along his right side.

And it’s a beauty with a stylized “G” emerging from the outline of the Hill’s home state of Indiana with stars coming out of the top.

Hill already has some of the more notable tattoos among Spurs players.

I’m not judging tattoos as I don’t have any, nor do I have any immediate plans of adding them.

But I’ll leave it to Al Czervik to .

I’m curious Spurs Nation.

What do you think of Hill’s newest addition?
