Spurs become the Best team in NBA History

The San Antonio Spurs have done it quietly, like they do all things Spurs, but have achieved NBA greatness.  With the recent struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Spurs have become the team with the highest winning percentage.  With a percentage of .610, the Spurs have won two out of every three games over the last 15 years.

The Spurs hope to add to that percentage when they face the Sacramento Kings tomorrow night, their first game back from their mostly unsuccessful Rodeo Road Trip.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets still remain so be sure to get yours today and help cheer on your Defending NBA Champions!

Spurs end Rodeo Road Trip on a High Note

The 2015 Rodeo Road Trip will be one to remember and hopefully a record that will stand for a long time, that is, the most losses on said Rodeo Road Trip.  For the Spurs, the trip is usually a bonding period where the team gels into playoff form.  This season, however, the Spurs went sub .500 for the first time with a 4-5 record.  The bright spot?  The last two games were won by a combined 37 points.

“We played well in some games and lost, and played well the last two nights and won,” Head Coach Gregg Popovich said after the Suns victory. “We’re starting to get in a better rhythm I think.”

For Tim Duncan, it’s all about confidence. For him as well as his team.

“We need to be confident, individually and as a team. It’s been shot for a while,” Duncan said before departing Phoenix. “We’re going to start building it back and winning some games. That’s the only way it’s going to come.”

The (re)building begins this Wednesday, March 4th as they begin a six game home stand beginning with the Sacramento Kings, whom the Spurs beat last Friday night in Sacramento 107-96.  A game which Kings Coach George Karl think they should have won.

“I just think the effort, the energy and the intensity we had was first class,” Karl said Fridays game. “But the basketball IQ in the fourth quarter? I am not saying it was bad, but it sure wasn’t good.”

Rodeo Road Trip off to a Great Start

It’s that time of the year again for the San Antonio Spurs.  That special month of February when their home court is turned into a huge holding pen for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.  To date, the road trip has been used to firmly gel the team and get all healthy bodies on the right page and ready for the last portion of the NBA season.  With a 71-26 “Rodeo Road Trip” record, the Spurs have never fallen under .500.  This season, though may prove to be the hardest to date – since 2003.  This season, the trip includes stops in Toronto (lost), Indiana (won), Detroit, LA Clippers, Golden State, Portland, Utah, Phoenix.  There is every reason to believe that the Spurs will have trouble.  On the other hand, the Spurs thrive on the trip…so let’s play the games!

Next up for the Spurs are the Pistons.  For you Spurs fans in Detroit, make sure you get out and support the Champs.  Great seats and affordable tickets are still available. Get yours now!
