Spurs knock Bucks to .500

The defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs, winners of eight of their last 10 games picked up their second consecutive victory, disposing of the Milwaukee Bucks 95-101.  The Spurs now await the arrival of the Charlotte Hornets, who are coming off a victory over the hapless New York Knicks.

The Spurs, after losing to the Bulls playing “… embarrassing basketball,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “I want my money back.”   The team  came into the game against the Lakers with an attitude that carried over to the Bucks.  Although the Bucks game had a bit of a learning curve to it.

“Actually, when they’re young and they’ve changed their team a bit, and their coach, it takes a little while to get used to it,” Duncan said. “We hadn’t seen them. It took a half to get used to what they were doing. And then when we did, we did a much better job; taking care of the ball, moving the ball and luckily we made some shots.”

The Spurs will have a couple of days before the Hornets game this Wednesday.   Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to get yours now and help support your defending NBA Champion Spurs!

Spurs face Nets tonight

The defending Champions Spurs (13-4) are on the road visiting the Brooklyn Nets (7-9) at the Barclays Center tonight.  The Nets are coming off a 98-93 victory over the New York Knicks Tuesday evening.  The Spurs are coming off a 109-103 victory over the winless Philadelphia 76er’s in which both Tim Duncan and Tony Parker did not play.  The go to guy (and according to Coach Pop, he needs to play a bigger role) was Kawhi Leonard who notched his fourth 20 point game this season with 26 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

“We’re trying to loosen up a bit and give him more of a green light,” San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said.

Former Spurs Assistant turned Philly head coach Brett Brown had his hands full trying to keep his former team down and were competitive for most of the game.

“The first half was not played with much energy,” Brown said. “I’ve seen it with our guys. We play the Spurs, we’re sort of star struck for a second. We had no juice, no energy.”

There are plenty of affordable tickets still available for tonight’s game so be sure to get out and support your San Antonio Spurs.

Spurs route Knicks at home, prepare for 76ers

The San Antonio Spurs fought off what little momentum the New York Knicks had coming into the game marking the return of shooter JR Smith to run away with a 120-89 whipping of the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

“It was embarrassing for us to come here on our home court and lose a game like this,” Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony said. “It wasn’t about losing the game, it was just how we lost the game. We didn’t compete today and it showed out there on the court.”

The 76ers are coming off a 125-127 Overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Tickets for the Wells Fargo Center game are still available.
