Spurs melding into championship form

The defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs have been on a terror as of late winning 13 of their last 16 games, the past few of them against playoff contenders.  Whether on the road or at home, the Spurs just keep on winning.  The Memphis Grizzlies were their latest victim, taking a 103-89 whipping by the champs in San Antonio.  The team was lead by Kawhi Leonard’s 25 and 10.

“What Kawhi did today was incredible and it was fun to watch,” teammate Manu Ginobili said.

What Leonard “did” was use huge mismatches to get just about whatever shot he wanted.  Leonard went on to score 15 points in the 4th quarter on 6-7 shooting including a 3-pointer.

“We went to him and he went to himself,” head coach Gregg Popovich said. “It was little bit of both. He was rolling and he felt it.”

“I was getting the shots that I wanted,” Leonard said. “Guys were looking for me and they fell.”

The Spurs have today to rest up before taking on Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat in Miami.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets still remain so be sure to get yours now and help cheer on your San Antonio Spurs in Miami!

Spurs roll Bulls on National television

The San Antonio Spurs have not been great on national television this season, but yesterday, against a game Chicago Bulls club, glimpses of the Championship squad of a year ago surfaced, Tony Parker had his best game of the season and Tim Duncan didn’t score a bucket in a 105-116  home victory.

“Tony is playing at a high level again, that makes a big difference for them,” Chicago center Pau Gasol said. “It’s tough to beat them that way.”

Parker, who has been battling back from injury the past few weeks, looked stellar in his performance Sunday.

“He’s been in that mode for the last two or three games and feeling pretty confident about his health,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “He was very explosive today and played a decent number of minutes, too. I think he’s where we would like him to be.”

Spurs become the Best team in NBA History

The San Antonio Spurs have done it quietly, like they do all things Spurs, but have achieved NBA greatness.  With the recent struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Spurs have become the team with the highest winning percentage.  With a percentage of .610, the Spurs have won two out of every three games over the last 15 years.

The Spurs hope to add to that percentage when they face the Sacramento Kings tomorrow night, their first game back from their mostly unsuccessful Rodeo Road Trip.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets still remain so be sure to get yours today and help cheer on your Defending NBA Champions!
